Envy Lacquer: The Mermaid At Sea Collection

Provided For Review

Hey guys! I’m so excited to bring you The Mermaid At Sea Collection by Envy Lacquer tonight! This collection will be launching on July 29th at The Indie Shop in San Francisco. The show’s theme is mermaids, so obviously this collection fits in beautifully! If you aren’t able to attend The Indie Shop, nothing to fear! This collection will be launching in Envy’s online store on Wednesday, August 2nd at 5PM PDT. This is a six piece collection with a little something for everyone, so let’s check out the swatches!

Envy Lacquer Mermaid Hair Don’t Care
Three Coats Plus Top Coat
Sunlight (First Two Images) & Artificial Lighting (Last Image)
Inspired by the infamous Little Mermaid. It is a creme polish with a jelly like opaqueness. I’ve shown this beautifully bright neon red/orange/coral in three thin coats for maximum payoff of the copper shimmer. I loved the formula on this and it’s quite an in your face summer color!

Envy Lacquer Abalone Crown
Three Coats Plus Top Coat
Sunlight (First Two Images) & Artificial Lighting (Last Image)
Inspired by the abalone shell and its iridescence. This is a crelly like base filled with many different shades of color changing glass flecks. It also has the slightest touch of holo and purple to green shimmer. Shown are three thin coats. I did have the slightest difficulty with application here, due to the thicker base, but I’ve spoken to Melody and she’s already taking care of it! The glass flecks in here are amazing! You can really see them in the shade.

Envy Lacquer Seafoamin’ Around
Two Coats Plus Top Coat
Sunlight (First Two Images) & Artificial Lighting (Last Image)
Inspired by Melody’s favorite color, mint, she wanted to capture a fun interpretation of the sun hitting tropical waters. The polish has an array of aqua micro flakies, pink shimmer, and glitters. This is a very unique crelly! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a polish quite like this one. Two easy coats shown.

Envy Lacquer Sunset Sands
Three Coats Plus Top Coat
Sunlight (First Two Images) & Artificial Lighting (Last Image)
Inspired by watching the sunset while on a warm, sandy beach. It’s a rosy micro flake base with color changing glitters and flakies to give it bright red flashes throughout. This is three thin coats for opacity and it is so sparkly! It also made me look so tan!

Envy Lacquer Make Waves
Two Coats Plus Top Coat
Sunlight (First Two Images) & Artificial Lighting (Last Image)
Inspired by the night sky on the ocean. This is a very glitter heavy polish filled with many types of glitters, holo flakies and regular flakies. But even with all the glitter, it still smoothed out for me with regular top coat, no Gelous necessary! And no staining! For such a gorgeous, saturated teal that’s impressive. This polish has a touch more green to it in real life, but this specific shade is always very hard to capture through the lens. This one is so stunning, definitely one of my favorites.

Envy Lacquer Don’t Be A Seawitch
Two Coats Plus Top Coat
Sunlight (First Two Images) & Artificial Lighting (Last Image)
Inspired by Ursula of the Little Mermaid. It has a deep violet base with a bright magenta shift in direct light. The shimmer is shifty and shifts to gold and even green at extreme angles. It also has a scattered holo along with bright green glass flecks. Two glorious coats. I’m actually writing this post from beyond the grave, because when I put this polish on, I died. No, but seriously, this one will have to be pried from my cold, dead hands one day because it’s a masterpiece.
*The base of this polish can possibly cause staining to artificial nails or nail mats. Please use a base coat. I had no staining on my natural nails.*

So clearly I have a few favorites (ahem, purple), but this is a very well-rounded collection I must say. I hope you guys enjoyed the swatches and if you’re going to be at The Indie Shop, stop by and say hello to Melody for me!
